On the first Friday in October, Las Vegas closes the distance between the Strip and the desert. Tables run under string lights at the foot of Red Rock. A fire is lit. The band plays. And the people who can change a child’s life in this city sit down together.
Cowboy Up for Kids is the signature evening of the Alliance for Child Protection. Every seat taken, every table reserved, every paddle raised funds prevention education, youth safety resources, and empowerment programs across Nevada.

Our mission is to create a child exploitation prevention model that can be replicated in communities throughout the United States and the world.
We began in Las Vegas, Nevada because predators and traffickers travel here from all over the world to abuse children for profit and entertainment.
That ends now.
Our programs
Prevention, education, and a community that pays attention
We work upstream. Rather than responding after a child has been exploited, the Alliance builds the conditions in which exploitation is far harder to begin.
Nevada Cares Boutique
Homeless youth are at high risk of trafficking. The Alliance offers clothing for work or school, plus safety kits, to empower and protect them — and with them, dignity and self-respect.
Community education
Training, workshops and media that equip adults to recognize what is happening around them and to know what to do about it.
Empowering youth against trafficking
Anti-trafficking education for grades 5 through 12 teaches healthy relationships and self-protection. A peer-to-peer mentoring model reduces risks including bullying, depression and trafficking.
Nevada Fights Child Trafficking
Nevada Fights Back unites organizations across the state to combat child trafficking with better communication, streamlined effort and a sustainable service model.

The venue
The Reserve at Red Rock Canyon
Sixty-five acres of private land in the heart of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, on the historic Bonnie Springs Ranch site. Twenty-five minutes from the Strip, and a world away from it. Wild burros still wander the fence line at dusk.

The evening is outdoors at four thousand feet. Desert nights cool quickly — bring a jacket, and wear boots you can dance in.

Every ticket and table includes the cocktail reception, a seated dinner, beverages, live entertainment, and access to the silent and live auctions. Table levels also receive named recognition in the evening’s program.
Western chic. Think elevated denim, a good jacket, and boots — hats absolutely welcome. The evening is outdoors on grass and gravel, so choose footwear accordingly.
The program concludes with the live auction, and the band plays through the dancing that follows. End time will be confirmed on your ticket confirmation.
Yes. Individual seats are available at three levels — Premiere, Preferred and General — and single guests are seated with other supporters, which is often how the best connections of the night get made.
The evening includes a full bar and a late program. Age policy will be confirmed on your ticket confirmation.
Tickets and tables support the mission directly. If your plans change, contact us and we will do our best to transfer your seats to a guest of your choosing.
